God Damn It! The Last 5 Days Of Spike Of COVID In East Jakarta Touches 1,000 Cases Per Day

JAKARTA - The number of additional positive confirmations of COVID-19 in East Jakarta in recent days has increased to 1,000 cases per day.

Head of the East Jakarta Health Sub-department, Indra Setiawan, explained that previously the number of additional positive cases of COVID-19 in East Jakarta was around 200 per day, now it can reach 1000 cases per day.

"In East Jakarta previously there were 150 to 200 new cases, but in five days we have added over a thousand new cases", said Indra Setiawan at the opening of the COVID-19 Vaccination Center at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 22.

Indra Setiawan said that positive cases of COVID-19 did not only occur in East Jakarta but also in other Jakarta areas.

For this reason, Indra said that one of the efforts that can be done so that the positive number of COVID-19 no longer increases is to accelerate vaccination for Jakarta residents aged 18 years and over.

"Actually, what is being done here is mostly done in several places in Jakarta. This is a collaboration between the business world and the provincial government of DKI Jakarta to accelerate vaccination", said Indra Setiawan.

Indra said that for the East Jakarta area, it is targeted that as many as 29,000 doses of vaccine are given to residents every day to reach the target of 8.8 million Jakarta residents who receive the vaccine.

"The target of vaccination per day in East Jakarta is around 29,000 which must be carried out until August 17 to achieve communal immunity. We hope that up to 70 percent of the population will be vaccinated", said Indra.
