JAKARTA - The head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais) Lieutenant General TNI Joni Supriyanto stated that the TNI Headquarters conducted a number of security operations in Papua to provide security for the community.
"Operation is still active until today, hopefully, it provides a better situation," Joni said at the Working Meeting (Raker) with the DPR RI Special Committee (Pansus) in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 28.
Joni explained that the operations included border security operations which were carried out throughout the year. The operation was carried out along the border from Jayapura to Merauke. A total of 96 security posts with the support of around 3,210 members of the TNI.
Subsequently, the operation of vulnerable areas was carried out in several places under the control of the Cenderawasih Military Commander. Then there is the operation of securing the outer islands, where there are two outer islands in Papua which are carried out by marines, as well as air transport operations for logistics distribution in remote areas.
