Receiving 3 Months Inactive Sanctions, This Is The Response Of The South Aceh Regent

The Regent of South Aceh, Mirwan MS, stated that he had accepted the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian's decision to impose a three-month inactive sanction on him. The sanction was given after Mirwan was known to perform Umrah when the South Aceh region was being hit by floods and landslides.

Mirwan called the decision an important lesson to improve professionalism and improve the quality of public services in the future. He hopes that conditions in South Aceh will recover soon so that community services and disaster management can run without obstacles.

"We hope that the situation will soon return to conducive so that services to the community, disaster management, and regional development agendas can continue," said Mirwan in his official statement, Wednesday, December 10.

In his statement, Mirwan apologized to the people of Indonesia, especially the people of Aceh and South Aceh, for the noise that arose due to the polemic of his departure to the Holy Land when the disaster occurred.

He invited all elements of society, including religious and youth leaders, to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and support the acceleration of disaster management in South Aceh and other areas of Aceh.

"This title is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's direction which emphasizes the importance of placing regional interests above all else," added Mirwan.

Previously, it was reported that during the inactive period, Regent Mirwan MS would participate in an internship program within the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). The program aims to provide space for Mirwan to improve himself and deepen understanding of good governance.

With this attitude of accepting sanctions, Mirwan hopes to return to duty more maturely and be able to provide the best service for the people of South Aceh.
