AGO: Refund Of Cchromebook Corruption Cases Nearly IDR 10 Billion

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said that the amount of money returned in the alleged corruption case in the education digitization program was in the form of procuring Chromebook laptops at the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2019-2022, amounting to almost Rp. 10 billion.

"What is clear is that from the information from fellow investigators, there is indeed a refund of a sum of money, both in the form of dollars and rupiah, approximately Rp. 10 billion," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Anang Supriatna at the Attorney General's Office Building, Jakarta, Friday, confiscated by Antara.

He said that the amount of money was an accumulation of returns from some cooperative parties.

"From one of the suspects, continue from the power of budget user (KPA), continue from the Ministry of Education and Culture's commitment-making official (PPK)," he said.

In addition, said Anang, there is also a part of returning from one of the laptop vendors.

The estimated state financial loss due to this case amounted to Rp1.98 trillion. However, until now, the new refund is almost Rp10 billion.

Anang ensured that the AGO would continue to trace the assets of the parties suspected of being involved in this case in order to recover state financial losses.

"It should be remembered that asset tracing does not only stop during the investigation. Later in the prosecution stage or after this case is running, it can still be done," he said.

The AGO has named five suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Education and Culture in the education digitization program for the 2019-2022 period.

The five suspects are JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff of the Minister of Education and Technology in 2020 '2024. Then, BAM (Ibrahim Arief) as a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Then, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) as the Director of Elementary School Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget user within the Directorate of Elementary Schools in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Next, MUL (Mulyatsyah) as Director of SMP of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education PAUD of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget user in the first Middle School Directorate for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
