The Minister Of Home Affairs Leads The Coordination Meeting Of Local Governments In Sumatra, Governors Of South Sumatra, Lampung And Aceh Not Present

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian chaired a coordination meeting (rakor) of regional governments (Pemda) throughout Sumatra in 2025 in Batam City, Riau Islands (Kepri), Sunday, September 21.

The coordination meeting was attended by regional heads throughout Sumatra, namely Riau, Bengkulu, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Jambi, Lampung, and Bangka Belitung.

Some governors who were not present or represented include South Sumatra, Lampung and Aceh.

The Riau Islands region was attended by all mayors, as well as regents online.

Apart from the Minister of Home Affairs, the coordination meeting was also attended by Chairman of Commission II Rifqinizamu Karyasayuda and Acting Director General of Foreign Trade Tommy Andana as resource persons.

The event has also been attended by the Mayor of Batam/Head of BP Batam Amsakar Achmad and his deputy Li Claudia Chandra.

This government coordination meeting was previously held in the Jakarta area, and throughout Java post-demonstration that broke out in various regions at the end of August.

This coordination meeting is important in responding to the dynamics of the community, as well as strengthening the synergy between the central government, regional governments and security forces.

Riau Governor Ansar Ahmad in his opening remarks appreciated the choice of Batam City as the organizer of government coordination meetings throughout Sumatra.

"This is an important history for local governments in carrying out their duties to reinforce and express their upright attitude in implementing and making the president's Astacita successful," said Ansar, confiscated by Antara.

On that occasion, Ansar also conveyed the export potential of Riau Islands and areas throughout Sumatra that fill the Singapore market.

Until this news was revealed, the Minister of Home Affairs was giving directions to regional heads throughout Sumatra.

Tito said this coordination meeting was to discuss the current security and social security situation, as well as to anticipate problems in the 2025 fiscal year.
