Kejari Madiun Investigates Alleged Corruption In Land And Building Tax Payments

JAKARTA - The State Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) of Madiun Regency, East Java (Jatim) is investigating the alleged corruption in the payment of Land and Building Tax (PBB) in the Gemarang District area which took place during 2015-2019.

What is being investigated in the case is the alleged irregularity in the payment of Urban and Rural Building and Land Tax (PBB-P2) in Gemarang District from 2015 to 2019.

"We are still investigating this case further. We are still collecting a number of PBB-P2 payment documents. to complete the examination," said Bayu Novrian, in Madiun, as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 1.

His team has also conducted searches at the Madiun Regency Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) office as well as a number of village offices in Gemarang District, to develop cases of suspected corruption.

"The purpose of the search is to collect a number of documents, to complete evidence related to the issue of PBB-payment. P2 from 2015-2019," he said again.

His party has also examined as many as 35 witnesses related to the alleged corruption case. The witnesses being questioned consisted of Bapenda officials, tax officers at the sub-district and village levels, as well as other parties suspected of being involved.

According to the data, the alleged corruption case against PBB-P2 has been handled by the Madiun District Prosecutor's Office since February 2021 and continues to be followed up.

PBB-P2 for the period 2015 to 2019 has a total value of IDR 9.8 billion.

In addition to completing case files, the investigating team is also still waiting for the results of the audit of state losses by the authorized institution. After that, the prosecutor immediately named a suspect in the case.
