BANDA ACEH - Aceh Customs and Excise together with a joint team thwarted the smuggling of 127 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in two separate locations in the province of the western tip of Indonesia.

Head of the Customs and Excise Facilities Division of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise Aceh Leni Rahmahsari in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, revealed that the smuggling of methamphetamine was the result of an intensive joint team with Customs and Excise from Thursday (24/4) to Monday (5/5).

"The joint officers finally stopped the suspected vehicle on Monday (28/4) at around 23.50 WIB. From the inspection, 18 packs of methamphetamine were found and secured a person with the initials S," he said.

Based on the development of the case, the joint team arrested a person with the initials Z. From the results of further interrogation and investigation of Z, it was found that 99 packages containing methamphetamine at a riverside hoarding site in Gampong Alue Berawa, Langsa City, on Sunday (4/5).

"The two perpetrators with the initials S and Z along with the evidence were handed over to the NIC Bareskrim Polri team for further investigation and uncovering a network of narcotics syndicates involving them," he said.
