Customs And Excise Thwarts Smuggling Of 127 Kilograms Of Shabu In Aceh

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Customs and Excise together with a joint team thwarted the smuggling of 127 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in two separate locations in the province of the western tip of Indonesia.

Head of the Customs and Excise Facilities Division of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise Aceh Leni Rahmahsari in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, revealed that the smuggling of methamphetamine was the result of an intensive joint team with Customs and Excise from Thursday (24/4) to Monday (5/5).

"In the intensive operation, Aceh Customs and Excise together with a joint team confiscated 117 packs of methamphetamine or methamphetamine in two different locations, in East Aceh Regency and Langsa City. For a total weight of 127 kilograms," Leni said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 6.

The operation to reveal the smuggling of prohibited goods began with sharing information and mutual analysis between a joint team related to reports of drug transportation by sea from Thailand to Aceh waters.

Then, the joint team explored the information by conducting an investigation.

"From the results of the initial investigation, information was obtained that the prohibited goods were smuggled using fast boats and then carried off using fishing boats around the waters of Aceh Tamiang Regency, before being brought to the mainland," he said.

Based on this information, he said, the BC 15030 Customs and Excise Patrol Task Force monitored potential landing points. Marine monitoring information directs the smuggling of drugs on the use of motorbikes as a means of transportation to the North Aceh Regency area.

"The joint officers finally stopped the suspected vehicle on Monday (28/4) at around 23.50 WIB. From the inspection, 18 packs of methamphetamine were found and secured a person with the initials S," he said.

Based on the development of the case, the joint team arrested a person with the initials Z. From the results of further interrogation and investigation of Z, it was found that 99 packages containing methamphetamine at a riverside hoarding site in Gampong Alue Berawa, Langsa City, on Sunday (4/5).

"The two perpetrators with the initials S and Z along with the evidence were handed over to the NIC Bareskrim Polri team for further investigation and uncovering a network of narcotics syndicates involving them," he said.
