Amien Rais Declares Ummah Party, Along With Management Structure

JAKARTA - 1998's Reformation figure, Amien Rais, officially declared the establishment of the Ummat Party in Yogyakarta, Thursday to coincide with the 17th of Ramadan 1442 Hijriah, according to information from the Official Youtube account of Amien Rais.

"On behalf of the founders, leaders, cadres, and members of the Ummah Party, on 17 Ramadan 1442 Hijriah, to coincide with 29 April 2021 AD, Bismillahirahmanirahim, I declare the birth of the Ummat Party in the Indonesian Mother Earth, which we all love together," said Amien Rais as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 30.

"God willing, we will work, fight, and make sacrifices to fight injustice and uphold justice," said Amien Rais, who at the time of the declaration was wearing the uniform of the Ummah Party.

On the right and left as well as behind Amien Rais, the ranks of the Ummah Party officials stood to listen to the contents of the party's founding declaration.

"We are aware that upholding virtue and eradicating evil and upholding justice and fighting injustice requires patience, perseverance, and determination," he said.

"We dedicate all our prayers, all our worship, our lives. We dedicate it only to Allah, the Great Lord of the Universe," said Amien Rais, the Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly for the 1999-2004 period.

"We believe that all of our democratic mechanisms and our constitution are more than adequate. to make improvements in national life so that we don't need extra-parliamentary methods and extra-constitutional methods," said the Reformation figure.

After reading the declaration of the founding of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais then led a prayer and stated "Allahuakbar" (Allah is the greatest), three times.

He also closed the declaration by shouting the word "Merdeka", which then followed by the management ranks of the party that stands behind Amien Rais.

In the same upload, the Ummat Party immediately announced the ranks of the Syuro Council and the Central Executive Board (DPP).

After reading the list of administrators, Amien Rais and his ranks of Party cadres sang the Ummat Party's Mars as the closing ceremony for the reading of the declaration.
