TULUNGAGUNG - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Tulungagung Regency, East Java is investigating the perpetrators of the spread of money which caused a crowd and went viral on social media. This distribution of money was in the spotlight because of a violation of health protocols.

"We are still going to confirm first, who is the person who distributed the money," said Head of Tulungagung Municipal Police and Satpol PP Enforcement, Artista Nindya Putra, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 28.

He admitted that he had received a number of complaints from the public. A video showing someone squandering money for the citizens to fight over, sparked the crowd.

Residents are also worried about the transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak, due to the intense touch between citizens who are involved in the crowd.

The initial step that will be carried out by Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) is to check the accuracy of the video that is suspected of violating the health protocol.

"We are trying to summon the person as soon as possible. Moreover, the video is already viral, residents can clearly see the violation," said Artista Nindya.

The short video circulating on social media is 15 seconds long. In the video, a man is shown handing out money to children and adults, causing a crowd.

In the video, the voice of the MC can also be heard calling the actor who distributes the money as "Pak Kades" (Mr. Head of Village).

Most netizens commented negatively on the distribution of money. Some highlight the inhuman way of giving alms.

"Why don't we call them one by one, how come it is spread like that. It has a showing off impression," commented a netizen on the social media Facebook.

Another response highlighted that it does not implement health protocols. The man called the Head of Village did not appear to be wearing a mask, as were children and adults who were cramming and fighting over money.

From the information circulating among netizens, the figure who spread the money was a Head of Village in Boyolangu District.
