Kominfo Promises To Make Sure Pornhub Sites Can't Be Accessed In Today's Memory, December 27, 2019

The government of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) wants the spread of national information to be carried out quickly. He saw that accelerating access to information could bring progress. This condition made them present Kominfo from 2005.

Kominfo has a big mandate in developing telecommunication infrastructure for all Indonesian people. Problems began to arise when Kominfo was visited by Tifatul Sembiring. The Minister of Communication and Information for the 2009-2016 era actually brought Kominfo to become a moral police officer.

He took action against many things that smelled of violence and immorality in cyberspace. Pornography is the main focus. He claims to have blocked many porn sites. He likes to have a mission to free the Indonesian people from the bad influence of pornography, which in fact is not the main task of Kominfo.

Tifatul's three-year government is considered by Kominfo itself to bring achievements. The site blocked by Kominfo has almost reached one million. Something that is considered by Kominfo's achievements has actually led to criticism. The Tifatul government is considered to be ignorant of the main work of Kominfo.

Kominfo is considered to have no major achievements. In fact, Kominfo is considered to be able to function in providing strategic communication support to build national integration. However, Tifatul still carries out the action of blocking pornographic sites.

"We have blocked around 983,000 porn sites, nearly one million porn sites. Of course it will continue to grow. Even though we are censoring and blocking, everything will not work if the ethics of the public's internet is still low, aka still likes to open pornographic content," Tifatul said as quoted by Kompas.com website, February 6, 2012.

The influence of Tifatul, even though he no longer leads Kominfo, still exists. The successor, Johnny G Plate, still uses standard porn sites. In fact, the government's blocking from the Tifatul era was easily penetrated with the help of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) application.
