Polda Babel Burn 29 Kilograms Of Marijuana As Evidence Of Drug Cases

JAKARTA - The Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police (Polda Babel) destroyed 29 kilograms of marijuana and hundreds of bottles of alcoholic drinks in the Bhaypark Pangkalpinang parking lot, Tuesday, April 27 afternoon.

"Evidence of 29 kg marijuana destroyed today is the result of case disclosure handled by Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba, ed)  for the criminal case of marijuana smuggling from the province of Lampung on February 12, 2021," said the Head of Babel Islands Police Inspector General Anang Syarif Hidayat, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 28.

He said that all the evidence destroyed were narcotics and alcoholic drinks, which are planned to be circulated in the Bangka Belitung Islands region.

The failure of smuggling and distribution of evidence confiscated by Ditresnarkoba officers and the implementation of the Menumbing Community Disease Operation (Concentrated) 2021, has saved hundreds of thousands, even millions of residents in this region.

"Apart from 29 kilograms of marijuana, today we are also destroying alcoholic beverages of arak type packaged in 194 plastic packs, 68 bottles, and two jerry cans, two buckets of tuak, 442 bottles of beer, and 250 cans of beer," he said.

Head of Region Police said, narcotic crime is a serious problem to be considered, because narcotics are the enemy of the state that should be handled by various parties so that in the effort to handle it, cooperation is needed for the Directorate of Drug and its staff as well as the criminal justice system (CJS) apparatus, namely the Attorney General's Office, BNNP, Courts, BPOM and the Health Service.

"Narcotics crime is getting more serious either at national or regional level in Bangka Belitung, Babel Police and regional unit apparatus incessantly carry out various prosecution efforts in the field of narcotics crimes. In addition, we are also holding operations in overcoming community diseases, one of which is the eradication of alcohol in this area," he said.

He stated that the suspected possessor of narcotics for this type of marijuana on behalf of (YN) is suspected of violating Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132. paragraph (1) subsidiary to Article 111 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) more subsidiary to Article 115 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
