West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that the province and all elements in it must carry out ecological drugs to stop recurring disasters on an increasingly large scale.

Because, said Dedi, environmental damage has been so severe in West Java with many land conversions, the emergence of certificates of ownership of land from mountains, rivers, to the sea which should be of common interest.

"We have to carry out ecological links in my language. Namely, the government must immediately improve itself, improve spatial planning, improve people's lifestyles so that they are no longer destructive, especially rivers," said Dedi at Husein Sastranegara Air Base Bandung, Tuesday, March 11.

Currently, he said, in West Java, various parties tend to corner the river and make it a waste of hatred, even though rivers are needed.

This, continued Dedi, is not in accordance with the philosophy of the people of West Java who have characteristics that are attached to water with evidence of many regional namings starting with Ci which are taken from the word Cai or water in Indonesian.

"Currently, the sea is not only certified. The watersheds have been certified. Many mountains have been certified. This must be addressed immediately. In fact, the philosophy of the people of West Java is water," he said.

For the many activities of land conversion and the emergence of land certificates that are not in accordance with the designation of many changes directed at the commercial interests of certain parties, Dedi said that flooding occurred in several areas, namely Bogor, Depok, Karawang, and Bekasi, causing a total loss of IDR 3 trillion.

"We will audit it later, in my opinion, it is more than Rp. 3 trillion, this is not only a loss suffered by residents, but also a recovery carried out by the government, and this is clearly expensive," said Dedi.

Therefore, Dedi emphasized that each party should not like to see the point of view in the economy, especially income.

"Eat it if the development doesn't like to see the point of view of the economy, how much income is from tourism in Puncak. But, look at the impact caused by a decision," he said.

Currently, the handling of flood-affected residents in the short term has been completed, namely for food. Meanwhile, the long period of rebuilding and relocation for houses along the river.

"Including later the Housing Ministry must also evaluate developers who carry out the construction of housing on the riverbank, in the middle of rice fields," he said.

Then, the regents and mayors must immediately evaluate their spatial planning together, because West Java does not deserve a disaster, because the system and nature are good.

"It's not appropriate, why? Because the system is good, the nature is good. This inappropriateity is caused by carrying out development planning, spatial planning is carried out recklessly, against natural principles," he said.

Regarding the certificate on the riverbank, Dedi said that his party would discuss it with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) for revocation.

Despite the revocation, Dedi said there would be no compensation, loss because it had taken state land.

"The river must be managed by BBWS, then DSDA, the three of them are countries, because the river is a country. When today the river belongs to individuals, it means that there is an inappropriate transfer of certificate function and that there is a legal route which will be the authority of the Minister of ATR," he said.

Dedi said that this week the West Java Provincial Government will make a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an army of three stamps, namely the Army, Navy, and Air.

"Well, I will make an MoU, this entire force will work together later in guarding upstream rivers, watersheds, river estuaries to the sea, air. It does monitoring," he said.
