Still Stubbornly Held Wild Racing During Ramadan, Operation Police Disbanded Sita 27 Motorcycles

NTB - Central Lombok Resort Police (Polres) confiscated 27 motorbikes in the operation to disperse illegal racing that occurred in the month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri in the local area.

"This activity was carried out as an effort to create public order and comfort during the Holy month of Ramadan," said Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Iwan Hidayat in Central Lombok, Tuesday, March 4, confiscated by Antara.

He said that his party continues to carry out routine patrols to anticipate illegal racing actions that often disturb residents, especially at night after breaking the fast until before dawn.

"We are controlling this illegal racing action so that people can perform fasting safely and comfortably. Apart from endangering themselves, this action is also dangerous and disturbing other road users," he said.

The police chief said that during this activity his party managed to confiscate 27 motorbikes during the disbandment of illegal racing. The vehicle is currently being secured at the Central Lombok Police Headquarters for further processing.

He emphasized that vehicle owners are obliged to complete the documents and make a statement so that they can take their vehicle back.

"We appeal to the entire community, especially young people, not to carry out illegal racing actions that can disrupt public order and endanger the safety of themselves and others," he said.

"We will also continue to improve patrols to ensure the situation remains conducive during Ramadan," he added.

The Central Lombok Police also invited the public to report to the police if they found any illegal racing or other social security disturbances.

"With good cooperation between the community and the police, it is hoped that the security situation during Ramadan can remain conducive and under control," he said.
