Police Arrest 8 Young People for Deadly Clash in Menteng

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police arrested a number of people following a fatal clash that occurred in the Tambak Street area, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

"There are 8 people who have been secured. They are still under investigation," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Roby Hery Saputra to VOI.

The eight people suspected of being the perpetrators of the deadly clash are still in the Metro Menteng Police detention cell.

"Those who were secured were taken to the police station (Menteng)," he said.

In addition, the police have also not been able to reveal the exact cause of the brawl between the groups.

As a result of the deadly clash, two people suspected of being the perpetrators of the clash were evacuated to RSCM by officers. However, the identities of the two men have not been known.

Previously reported, a man from one of the groups of deadly clashes in the Tambak area, Menteng, Central Jakarta, was eventually killed while undergoing treatment at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta on Sunday, July 26, 2026, afternoon.

"Two people suffered serious injuries and were evacuated to RSCM. One of them died at the hospital," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jakarta Central Metro Police, AKBP Roby Hery Saputra to VOI.

The victim who died suffered serious injuries to the head, but the victim's identity is not yet known. Currently, the deceased victim is at RSCM.
