Police Harkamtibmas Raids Arrest Firecracker Distributor In Banda Aceh

JAKARTA - The personnel of the Police and Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police have arrested a distributor of firecrackers during a raid in order to maintain security and public order (Harkamtibmas) and comfort in worship.

"All is done for the sake of maintaining security and public order, moreover Muslim people are doing Ramadan Worship in this one full month,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Banda Aceh Police Commissioner Adjutant, M Ryan Citra Yudha, in Banda Aceh, Thursday, April 22.

Ryan said, during a raid on one of the firecrackers distributors, his party secured 27 small boxes of yellow blooming flower and joyful firecrackers.

Then, as many as 32 small boxes of yellow happy flower firecrackers and 182 firecrackers with the Roman candle tiger brand 0.8 5s.

"The owner and the evidence were brought and secured to the Police Headquarters, and then asked for information regarding the business he manages," he said.

Ryan conveyed that the firecrackers raid was carried out until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah, the police will also take action against anyone who uses or trades firecrackers.

"We will continue to make various efforts to create security and comfort for residents carrying out Ramadan worship," said Ryan.

Ryan said that possession and use of explosives including firecrackers could violate Emergency Law No.12 of 1951 and could also be charged under Article 187 of the Criminal Code.
