Rano Karno Asks For All Heavy Equipment For Flood Control To Be Installed GPS Track

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno asked all heavy equipment for flood control in Jakarta to be installed with tracking devices so that their whereabouts could be known so that flood management could be more optimal.

"I ask the head of the Plt SDA for all operational devices to use tracking (GPS) and online to my office so that everything can be monitored," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno after the "Ready for Jakarta" rally in Jakarta, Sunday.

Rano, who is familiarly called Bang Doel, asked all levels of the Water Resources Service to continue to strengthen his role in ensuring that heavy equipment, dump trucks, mobile pumps, and portable pumps function properly.

Likewise, other supporting equipment can operate properly to accelerate the normalization process of water flow in various flood-prone locations.

According to him, the government must move in anticipating flooding by transporting sediments in 13 rivers, reservoirs and dams in Jakarta.

"It's a dilemma in Jakarta, everything must be done every day," he said.

He said that in the "Ready for Jakarta" apple, 122 units of heavy equipment were recorded which would be used for dredging and 84 units for physical work in flood management.

"So we all have to move, we have our own tools and we have our own power so we do it ourselves to carry this sediment," he said.

He said this dredging program was carried out from today until August 2025 and it means that during the fasting month all officers continue to work to dredge sediment.

"This sedimentation dredging must be done every day and we continue to move," he said.

He appealed to officers who work to dredge sediments to continue to carry out their duties seriously and carefully and make sure there are no blockages that block the flow of water.

In addition, always coordinating with relevant agencies such as the Water Resources Service, BPBD, Satpol PP so that dredging runs effectively and efficiently and maintains work safety by meeting operational standards and safety health protocols.

"Working in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and direction of the leadership because the tasks of the brothers and sisters are very noble to protect Jakarta residents from the risk of flooding," Bang Doel ordered.
