JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has officially issued OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 6 of 2026, which regulates the provision of information related to the financial and investment services sector by influencers.

Responding to the regulation, Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana, assessed that the OJK's move was very important in strengthening communication governance in the crypto asset industry.

According to him, the development of crypto assets needs to be balanced with a more responsible standard of influencers, especially because social media and influencers have a big influence on public perception.

"This is important so that the information received by the public is not only interesting, but also accurate, balanced, transparent, and pays attention to risks," said Calvin in his statement quoted Sunday, June 28.

Meanwhile, from the exchange and industry players, Calvin said that this rule also emphasizes the importance of responsibility in working with influencers or content creators.

He added that PUJK is required to ensure that influencers have appropriate skills, competencies, and qualifications, understand the products delivered, do not misuse consumer data, and only convey information in accordance with the scope of cooperation that has been agreed upon.

In addition, exchanges need to provide complete information on products and services to influencers, and review communication materials before they are published.

"Therefore, collaboration with influencers needs to be carried out in a more structured manner, starting from providing clear briefs, educating about risks, reviewing materials, to ensuring that each content complies with applicable provisions," added Calvin.

In the rules, influencers are required to provide information clearly, accurately, honestly, easily accessible, and not potentially misleading.

In addition, they are also not allowed to promise definite results for financial services products or services, including digital financial assets such as crypto assets.

If there is paid cooperation, commission, affiliation, or other forms of economic interest, it must be clearly conveyed to the public.

For high-risk products, including crypto assets, influencers also need to include risk warnings, disclaimers for the public to conduct personal analysis, and explanations that the product is not suitable for all groups.
