JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repatriated the body of an Indonesian citizen who died as a result of the shooting by the Malaysian Maritime Authority Agency (APMM) in Malaysia, Basri, to his family on Wednesday.
Basri's body arrived Wednesday afternoon, at 15.35 WIB, at Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru from Kuala Lumpur using AK429 flights, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, Thursday, January 30.
From there, the bodies were taken by road to Dumai Port and crossed by ferry to Rupat Island, Bengkalis Regency.
The body was officially handed over from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the family and immediately buried on the same day.
In an image shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens Judha Nugraha participated in the process of handing over the bodies to the family.
