Jasa Marga Predicts 1.5 Million Vehicles Leave Jabodetabek At The Moment Of The Long Holidays Of Isra Miraj And Chinese New Year

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk predicts that 1,559,680 vehicles will leave the Jabotabek area during the D-3 Isra Mikraj - D+4 Lunar New Year period or the period from January 24 to February 2, 2025 (10 days), up 10.9 percent when compared to normal traffic.

"This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (to Merak), GT Ciawi (to Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (to Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (to Bandung)," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 25.

Jasa Marga ensures the readiness of Jasa Marga Group toll road operations to run optimally, especially on toll roads that have the potential to become favorite tourist destinations for road users during long holidays, including the Jagorawi Toll Road for the Puncak and surrounding areas as well as the Jakarta-Cikampek and Cipularang Toll Roads for those heading to Trans Java and Bandung.

"In addition to ensuring the function of toll equipment at the substation, we also increase the number of officers and mobile reader to increase transaction capacity at the main toll gates. Not only at toll gates, we anticipate the potential for congestion in lanes with the placement of officers at density-prone points on favorite toll roads to accelerate the handling of vehicle disruption in lanes and regulate traffic even faster. Through Police discretion, Jasa Marga is also ready to support traffic engineering plans, such as contraflow, by placing officers and supporting signs, "said Lisye.

Meanwhile, for services in rest areas, Jasa Marga maintains public facilities such as toilets and prayer rooms operating properly and optimally without illegal levies.

Jasa Marga will also coordinate with the Police if discretion is needed to open and close the rest area by looking at the existing parking capacity. For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek from the three directions, the majority were 731,714 vehicles or 46.91 percent of vehicles heading East (Trans Java and Bandung), 470,089 or 30.14 percent of vehicles headed for the West (Merak), and 357,877 vehicles or 22.95 percent of vehicles headed for the South (Puncak).

For traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama, the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road increased by 373,083 vehicles or 36.7 percent from normal traffic.

Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, increased by 358,631 vehicles or 11.2 percent from normal traffic. The total traffic leaving Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung through both GT increased by 731,714 vehicles or 22.9 percent from normal traffic.

Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road amounting to 470,089 vehicles, an increase of 0.1 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road increased by 357,877 vehicles or 4.9 percent from normal traffic.
