Mass Shooting In Indianapolis USA: 8 People Killed, Perpetrators Of Suicide

JAKARTA - Another brutal shooting took place in the United States. This time, the shooting took place at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis, Thursday, April 15 evening local time.

Eight people were killed and several others injured when a man with an automatic gun opened fire at the FedEx operations center near the Indianapolis International airport.

Indianapolis police spokeswoman Genae Cook said authorities had responded to reports that the shooting had occurred and resulted in an incident of an active shooter.

"preliminary information is, the suspect shooter had committed suicide here at the scene", she said as reported by Reuters.

"Four people were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition with gunshot wounds and three others with various other injuries", he continued.

She further explained that two people were treated at the facilities at the scene of the shooting, while several others were rushed to the nearest hospital.

"It's heartbreaking and, you know, in the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, the officers are responding and they're doing their job", Cook said.

A FedEx spokesman said the company was deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of a team member. He did not specify whether all of the dead were FedEx employees.

"Our most sincere sympathy is to all those affected by this senseless act of violence. The safety of our team members is our top priority. And we are fully cooperating with the investigating authorities," he said.
