KPK Accused By PDIP Bujuk And Forced Witness In Hasto Kristiyanto Case

The PDI-P (PDIP) accused the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of persuading or forcing witnesses in the bribery case for the interim replacement management (PAW) of DPR members who ensnared PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. The legal team claimed to have information about this.

"We received information that there were witnesses who were constantly persuaded to submit their statements, the alleged statement was to link the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto," said PDIP DPP Chairperson for Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapesy to reporters at a press conference at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.

Ronny regretted the move. This is because these witnesses had actually been tested for their statements at the trial of former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and PDIP cadre Saiful Bahri.

The three names have already been tried in the bribery case for handling PAW members of the DPR RI because they were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) in 2020. Actually, former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku should also undergo the same process but he is still at large.

"Even though these witnesses have been tested for testimony at trial," he said.

This condition, continued Ronny, made PDIP take further steps. However, he has not detailed further.

Ronny said that the inventory of this accusation is still being made and will be submitted further.

"Of course we will take legal steps because this is a state of law. Not a state of power. Of course, our legal team will take legal action," said Ronny.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

Hasto has been summoned by investigators to be questioned as a suspect on Monday, January 6 yesterday. However, he asked for a postponement because there was a series of PDIP Anniversary events that had already been scheduled.

He then confirmed that he would fulfill the investigator's summons on Monday, January 13. Hasto admitted that he was ready to undergo the legal process with full responsibility and would cooperate.
