Today's Free Nutrition Eating Program Is First Held, Targeting 15 Million Recipients

JAKARTA - The Presidential Communication Office emphasized that the free nutritious food program will be carried out in stages on Monday, January 6. This is related to the establishment of 190 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in 26 provinces.

"The government is doing it gradually and gradually. This initial stage is related to the readiness of human resources (HR) and infrastructure in the implementation of the free nutritious eating program," said the spokesman for the Presidential Communication Office, Ujang Komaruddin.

According to him, the data submitted by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) related to 190 SPPG in 26 provinces based on program readiness will be nutritious free of charge in all aspects.

"Other provinces that will not necessarily be carried out will then the beneficiaries will increase from January to December," said Ujang.

Ujang explained that the target set by BGN in this inaugural implementation was 15 million recipients of the free nutritious food program.

"The stages or locations that have not been touched will be evaluated so that the targets desired by the president until the end of the year and in the next five years can be realized. Likewise with human resources and infrastructure," he concluded regarding the implementation of the free nutritious eating program.

Previously, the Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of BGN Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan revealed that 190 points of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or kitchen were ready to operate.

"This is data on 190 SPPG locations that are ready for operation as of January 6, 2025," he said in an official statement, Sunday.

A total of 190 locations are located in 26 provinces. West Java is the province with the highest number of SPPGs, namely 57 locations.

The SPPG locations are also spread across Aceh, Bali, Banten, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Gorontalo, Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Riau Islands, and Lampung.

In addition, the SPPG for the free nutritious food program, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, South Papua, Riau, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, West Sumatra, North Sumatra.
