New Generation BMW M4 Only Available EV Version, Here's The Reason

JAKARTA - It's no secret that BMW will increase its electric vehicle line alongside future internal combustion engines (ICE). One of the models that the brand considers is presenting a special M4 in EV configurations only.

Quoted from InsideEVs, Tuesday, January 7, it indicates that the M4 will only be available in pure electric driving. This is different from the approach BMW made to M3 while maintaining the ICE engine version side by side with the EV option.

It is said that the latest M4 comes in the ICE muni version with a small chance because the manufacturer has no plans to present a version of the latest generation Series-4 gasoline engine.

The report states that BMW is currently more focused on developing a pure Series-4 EV and a high-performance variant of the M division will come at the end of the decade.

The four-door-style brother, BMW Series-3 will have a new generation to build on the CLAR architecture and will feature the M350 model. It will be performance-oriented with the new G84 code on the latest M3 soon to launch in 2028.

At the end of 2024, the German manufacturer is reportedly developing its first high-performance electric car which is expected to take the basis of the Neue Classe concept.

According to the company, the next high-performance car will carry a new all-wheel drive system (AWD) with an integrated driving dynamics control system.

The system tested on a prototype vehicle promises a different level of dexterity, precision, and performance than before. By relying on four electric motors, it allows it to have unique driving characteristics.

The German manufacturer explained that each wheel can be powered or braked separately so that it offers different adjustments instantly.

BMW M has also developed its high-performance cars for nearly three years. This prototype combines fully electric powertrains and advanced energy storage systems that allow not only rapid acceleration but also convex dynamics and superior recovery capabilities.
