Minister Of Home Affairs Tito: Issuance Of Approval For Building Buildings Can Be Processed In Less Than 10 Hours

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian emphasized that the issuance of Building Approval (PBG) in Tangerang City can be processed in less than 10 hours.

He said this policy was carried out to encourage the program to provide three million houses for Low-Income Communities (MBR).

Last December, I was with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, and Mr. Nusron Wahid, the Minister of ATR/BPN, we discussed how to realize the program of three million President's houses," Tito said in his statement, Friday, January 3, quoted by Antara.

Tito revealed several problems to realize the three million houses, including the burden of the Obtainment of Rights on Land and Buildings (BPHTB).

In addition, the PBG burden is borne by the community and the real estate party. They asked for a policy of exemption from BPHTB and PBG fees.

Previously, PBG was known as the Building Permit (IMB). Tito detailed that there were two main problems related to this.

First, the cost to pay, including for poor people's houses that cannot afford. Second, the process time according to the rules should be 45 days, but in reality it could take up to a year or two.

The government then tried to shorten the time from 45 days to 10 days and even 10 hours.

This policy was tested by the Tangerang City Government (Pemkot). As a result, the time to take care of PBG is shorter than the target, less than 10 hours, but 4 hours.

"Pj. The Mayor of Tangerang, Pak Nurdin, gave me and Mr. Maruarar Sirait information, 'we are ready with the system, not just 10 days, 10 hours'. So I checked the report earlier, and there was a real thing, something was tried, the people who had asked PBG for permission," he said.

Therefore, the government is trying to change the mechanism for the issuance of PBG which is shorter.

He has also held virtual meetings with all regional heads and the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

As a result, they also supported the policy. This includes the Tangerang City Government who followed up on this policy quickly.

"It was simulated, not 10 hours, but 4 hours. Now our plan, Mr. Maruarar Sirait Insyaallah will come back here in mid-January to see the simulation directly with several applicants who are getting permission," said Tito.

He hopes that the system developed by the Acting Mayor of Tangerang can trigger other regions throughout Indonesia to do the same.

Of the 514 regencies/cities in Indonesia, 513 other regencies/cities were encouraged to do the same as the Tangerang City did.

"If all this is done, all regions will do the same thing as in Tangerang, four hours, not 10 days, we asked for 10 days, I frankly respect and point out a thumbs up," he concluded.
