Brazil Checks Its Azerbaijan Airlines Black Box Crashes In Kazakhstan Kills 38 People

JAKARTA - Brazil has started the process of examining black boxes or black boxes of their jets that crashed in Kazakhstan, killing 38 people.

An Embraer 190 aircraft from Azerbaijan Airlines made an emergency landing in Kazakhstan on Christmas Day 2024. The 67-person carrier was originally headed for the Chechen capital, Grozny, in southern Russia.

Brazil's Air Force (AU) said data from the recorder would be extracted and analyzed as soon as possible. The black box recorded a cockpit dialogue and flight data from the aircraft.

The device is being investigated by the Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center, which is a Brazilian Air Force unit.

On the one hand, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has acted after the Azerbaijan Airlines incident in Grozny.

Aliyev demanded that Russia admit to his accusations that the country's military led by Vladimir Putin had opened fire on the plane resulting in the incident.

Russia has yet to confirm whether the incident was caused by one of its air defense missiles.

However, Putin had communicated with Aliyev that his air defense system was active at the time of the incident. Putin also admitted that he was concerned about what happened to the Azerbaijan Airlines plane.

Russia argued that the Grozny region was being attacked by Ukrainian drones as Azerbaijan Airlines approached to land in the middle of a thick fog.

Investigators from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Russia have traveled to Brazil to conduct an investigation.
