China's Interpol Fugitive Regarding Online Gambling Arrested In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) revealed that China's Interpol fugitive related to online gambling (online) with the initials YZ alias Yan Zhenxing has been secured in Indonesia.

"The person concerned was secured while passing through the TPI (Immigration Checkpoint) of the Batam Center International Port on December 2, 2024, using a Magistic Ship from HarborFront International Port, Singapore," said Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement (Wasdakim) of the Ministry of Imipas Yuldi Yusman as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 5.

He explained that initially officers at the Batam Center International Port TPI checked immigration documents, and found out that YZ had a "hit" status on the Border Control Management (BCM) system.

"Then, the Inteldakim Team (Intelijen and Immigration Enforcement) Batam Immigration Office followed up," he explained.

Furthermore, he said, the Batam Immigration Office Inteldakim Team coordinated with the Investigating Team of the Wasdakim and Interpol Indonesia Directorates, so that information was obtained that YZ was the subject of the Red Notice at the request of the Beijing NCB (National Central Bureaus).

"Regarding the request of the Public Security Bureau of Weichang, Manchu, and Mongolia Autonomous Regencies, YZ is suspected of being involved in a criminal gang responsible for transferring and washing money. The gang operates a gambling platform by manipulating data by making a profit of 130 million yuan or equivalent to Rp. 284 billion," he said.

Furthermore, YZ was handed over to NCB Interpol Indonesia, including regarding the responsibility of handing over to NCB Beijing.

YZ is a Chinese Interpol fugitive based on the Interpol Red Notice regarding the Fugitive Wanted for Prosecution Number A-7619/7/2024 dated July 3, 2024.
