Bogor-West Java Election Supervisory Agency: 1,985 Regional Election Ballot Papers Swapped with Serang

BOGOR - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bogor Regency, West Java, revealed that 1,985 Regional Election ballots for Bogor Regency, West Java Province were exchanged with ballots for Serang Regency, Banten Province.

Coordinator of the Human Resources, Organization and Training Division of Bawaslu Bogor Regency, Irvan Firmansyah, revealed that the incident of the exchanged ballots was discovered during the process of sorting and folding Pilkada logistics at the Bogor Regency KPU warehouse.

"Between Serang Regency and Bogor Regency, 1,985 were exchanged, but they have been separated, immediately anticipated by coordinating with the printing party," said Irvan in Cibinong, Antara, Sunday, November 24.

The process of replacing the exchanged ballots was carried out together with 424 damaged ballots, bringing the total to 2,409 ballots.

On November 20, the missing ballots were completed, then distributed to each sub-district in stages from November 17-22.

Bogor Regency Bawaslu confirmed that currently all ballots have been distributed to KPU warehouses in 40 sub-districts throughout Bogor Regency.

"Now it is ready to be distributed to each polling station (TPS)," said Irvan.

The number of ballots for the Bogor Regent and Deputy Regent Election (Pilbup) is 4,029,743, with details of 3,926,080 ballots according to the number of permanent voter lists (DPT), 101,663 reserve ballots of 2.5 percent per TPS, and 2,000 ballots to anticipate a re-vote.

Irvan advised the Pilkada organizers at the regional level to be able to take good care of the ballots and ballot boxes, considering that Bogor Regency has often been showered with rain lately.
