300 Brimob Personnel At The National Police Headquarters Help Security For Regional Head Elections In Papua

A total of 300 Brimob personnel from the National Police Headquarters arrived in Jayapura to help secure the implementation of regional head elections (Pilkada) in the Papua region.

Head of the Papua Police Operations Bureau Kombes I Ketut Gede Wijatmika explained that the personnel were divided into Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains as many as 98 personnel from Regiment IV Pioneer under the leadership of Iptu Agus Kuncara.

They will be dispatched using a Trigana Air Service aircraft with flight number IL-273

Then Merauke, Merauke Regency, South Papua as many as 94 personnel from Regiment IV Pioneer led by Danmen IV Passport Kombes Ahmad Arief Sophian.

While the remaining 108, will be placed in other areas according to the operational task plan, said Kombes I Ketut Wijatmika.

The troop deployment was previously planned and all personnel are in good condition to be placed in their respective areas of duty.

"The presence of Brimob personnel from the National Police Headquarters is expected to strengthen security and create a conducive situation in Papua," said Kombes Ketut as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 21.
