Not Entering Prolegnas, Menkum Strives For Dialogue With The DPR Regarding The Asset Confiscation Bill

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said his party was seeking dialogue with parliament to smooth out the discussion of the Asset Confiscation Bill (RUU), considering that the bill was not included in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

"Now we are making joint dialogue with parliament, with the general chairmen of political parties, so that President Prabowo Subianto will send a presidential decree to enter the upcoming prolegnas, ensuring that it will be guaranteed to be discussed and discussed in parliament," Supratman said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 20.

According to Supratman, President Prabowo is paying serious attention to the Asset Confiscation Bill. He said the President had the determination to eradicate corruption in the country.

"Later, after he returns from abroad, we will report on his progress related to the existing prolegnas, and will ask for his views related to it. But what is certain is that President Prabowo is very "clear," he said.

The Minister of Law and Human Rights said that the academic papers and drafts of the Asset Confiscation Bill had been completed by the government. However, the DPR still has not given full approval.

Even so, the Minister of Law emphasized that as a representative of the government, he has a responsibility to ensure that every law initiated by the government can be completed.

"I have the task of ensuring that every law that the government applies, initiated by the government, must be completed," Supratman said.

Previously, at the plenary meeting on Tuesday (19/10), the DPR approved 176 bills for entering the 2025'2029 Prolegnas and 41 bills for entering the 2025 Priority Prolegnas.

The Asset Confiscation Bill is not included in next year's priority prolegnas, but is grouped into a medium-term bill to be discussed in the period 2025'2029.
