Entering The Rainy Season, The Government Immediately Builds Temporary Residential Residents Of Lewotobi

JAKARTA - The government claims to move quickly to build temporary shelters for refugees affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Men as the rainy season enters.

"This temporary celebration is rushed because we will soon face the risk of the rainy season and there will also be a Christmas holiday, so we will accelerate it, BNPB will immediately carry out temporary housing," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno after the Ministerial Meeting in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20, was confiscated by Antara.

Pratikno said, based on information from the ministry/technical institutions that the volcanic activity of Mount Lewotobi was still ongoing, but there were no symptoms of an increase. In addition, the radius for the security area has also been reduced and evacuation services are maintained.

The number of centralized refugees has also decreased, which is now around 5,117 people. However, there are still many to 6 thousand refugees independently.

"More are independent refugees who join their relatives around them. There are more independent refugees, namely more than 6,417 people," said Pratikno.

In addition to building temporary housing, the government will also assist the process of self-relocating, renovating houses, and preparing for permanent housing.

In the ministerial meeting, the central and regional governments have mapped out which locations permanent housing will be built.

"It has been identified, we will further deepen the administration. It has been discussed with residents. So the dialogue with residents is intensively carried out in order to determine permanent housing," he said.

Later the construction of this permanent residence will not be concentrated in one area. However, Pratikno ensured that the data collection process would involve affected residents.

"So once again, house renovations, independent relocations, temporary housing construction, residential construction will still be carried out simultaneously," said Pratikno.
