JAKARTA - Russian air defense units claim to have destroyed 59 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft overnight, two of which headed to the capital Moscow, Russia's Defense Ministry said Monday.
Twenty-five drones were destroyed in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, the ministry said in its Telegram messaging app.
In addition to the two drones that crashed in Moscow, the drone was also destroyed in the Kursk, Belgorod and Tula areas, the ministry continued in the statement.
"According to preliminary information, there was no damage or casualties at the crash site," Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.
Meanwhile, Bryansk Regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on the Telegram app the entire drone launched by Ukraine and targeted the region to be destroyed.
Reuters was unable to independently verify the report.
