Corruption In The Baznas Indragiri Hilir Riau Program Rises Investigation, Kejari: There Are Strong Indications

RIAU - The Prosecutor's Office has upgraded the status of handling cases of alleged corruption in the implementation of the Ramadan Premium Package Program for the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) in Riau in 2024 to the investigation stage.

Head of the Inhil District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Nova Fuspitasari said the investigation process had been carried out by a special criminal team since September 30, 2024. The results found strong indications of alleged corruption in the implementation of the Ramadhan Baznas Inhil Premium Package program.

"Based on the results of the exposure carried out by the Special Criminal Team of the Inhil District Attorney, there were strong indications of a legal incident in the form of alleged corruption in the implementation of the program," Nova said in Inhil, Riau, Thursday, November 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the initial investigation process included requests for information from various parties who were suspected of knowing about legal events and analysis of a number of related documents.

At the investigation stage, the Prosecutor's team seeks to find and collect evidence that has legal value in accordance with the provisions of Article 184 of the Criminal Code. This evidence, he continued, is expected to clarify the criminal acts that occurred and identify suspects who will be held accountable.

Since the investigation stage began, investigators have summoned six witnesses who are considered to have knowledge of this case to provide further information. To this day, the examination process of witnesses continues.

"We hope for support and active participation from the community, especially residents of Indragiri Hilir Regency, to ensure that the legal process runs fairly and transparently. The community is also expected to participate in supervising the handling of this case so that it can be carried out effectively and accountably," Nova said.
