2 Police Examined For Not Reporting A Woman Murder Case In Berastagi Karo With A Sapugang

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) revealed the perpetrator of the murder of a woman with the initials MP (26) in Doulu Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency.

"From the results of the search and autopsy, it was revealed that the victim on behalf of MP died from a lot of blood loss and injuries to the head and body," said Director of General Criminal Investigation Kombes Sumaryono in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 28.

Sumaryono said that in handling this case, the North Sumatra Police named five suspects, each with different roles.

He mentioned JFJ alias Jo as the main actor, another suspect who played a significant role was S, who helped lift and dispose of the victim's body, and EI helped find the executor to dispose of the body.

"As well as two members of the police, JHS and HP, who knew about the incident, but did not report it, were also involved as witnesses who were absent from reporting," he said.

Sumaryono said the incident took place at the residence of suspect Jo on Jalan Merdeka, Pematang Siantar on October 20, 2024.

At that time, Jo committed violence against the victim using his hands, and the handle of a wooden broom under the influence of methamphetamine.

"The temporary motive we are investigating is the personal relationship between the suspect Jo and the victim that triggered this persecution," said Sumaryono.

After that, the suspect had promised some money to help eliminate traces of his crime which showed his intention to cover up his actions and avoid the legal process.

Sumaryono said suspect Jo was arrested while at a beauty clinic in Pematang Siantar.

"During a search at Jo's house, he revealed various pieces of evidence, including several pillows, pillowcases, and bloodstains, as well as a number of personal equipment for the victim," he said.

The main suspect charged with Article 351 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code related to torture that causes death, with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison. Meanwhile, the suspect who helped was charged with Article 221 in conjunction with 55 of the Criminal Code.
