JAKARTA The action taken by a man against a small child in Pejaten, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta (Jaksel), Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10.00 WIB. The action was witnessed by many people because the perpetrators acted inside the roadside police post in a traffic-intensive condition.

In the video, the child is seen screaming and crying for help. But the residents can only watch.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Gogo Galesung, confirmed the incident. He said the perpetrators had been arrested by the police.

"It has been secured," said Gogo when confirmed, Monday, October 28

Gogo also said that currently the perpetrators had been taken to the South Jakarta Metro Police for further action.

Meanwhile, the Head of Pasar Minggu Police, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela, said that the victim was safe. He made sure there were no injuries on the victim's 7-year-old body.

"No one was injured," he said.

Anggiat explained that the perpetrators and victims of the hostage are father and son.

"(The perpetrator) is his father," said Anggiat when confirmed, Monday, October 28.

During the rescue process, the police negotiated the perpetrators.

"It took us a long minute to negotiate. 15 minutes," he said.

Regarding the sharp weapon (sajam) that had been attached to the victim's neck, Anggiat confirmed the information.

"Yes, it sticks to his neck," he said.

When asked about the motive for the perpetrator to take the action, Anggiat was reluctant to answer. Because the perpetrator and the victim have been handed over to the PPA Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police.

"Just go to the police station," he concluded.

Previously, a viral video on social media showed a man with a child inside a police post in Pejaten area, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta (Jaksel).

In the account, it was explained that the man was driving the boy. Even though the traffic flow is congested, the perpetrators continue to take these actions.

The child was seen screaming and crying to ask for help to release the hostage-taking.
