JAKARTA The police confirmed that IJ (54), the perpetrator of the child hostage-taking at the Pasar Minggu Police Post, South Jakarta, was positive for drugs. This fact was discovered after IJ underwent an examination process at the South Jakarta Metro Police.

Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police (Jaksel) AKP Nurma Dewi said IJ was positive for methamphetamine.

"Recognition from him, he has been using methamphetamine for four days. He was asked for information, then he admitted that he did use methamphetamine, we have tested positive for urine", Nurma told reporters, Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024.

Nurma explained, at the time of the incident the perpetrator was like a confused person. He felt like he was being chased by people. However, Nurma continued, if there was a small child he felt he was not being chased by people.

So he was scared, people were chasing the hallucinations. But if he sees a small child, he doesn't get chased by people. That's the hallucinations." Obviously.

The police have clarified that the perpetrators and victims of the hostage-taking at the Pasar Minggu Police Post, South Jakarta are not between father and son. In previous reports, the perpetrator with the initials IJ (54) was named the father of the victim.

However, when asked what business his father was doing, he admitted that he did not know further because it was still under investigation by investigators.
