Vaccine Supply Is Limited, The Health Commission Remind People To Be More Obedient To Health Protocols

JAKARTA - Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) received information from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin regarding the national vaccination process, which is currently experiencing problems.

The supply of the COVID-19 vaccine to Indonesia is constrained because so far it has only relied on vaccine supplies from producing countries. Where is currently carrying out an embargo due to the occurrence of the third wave of the spread of COVID-19 in their countries. So that the rate of vaccination in the country cannot run as before.

Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR RI, Charles Honoris, admitted that he appreciated the transparency and disclosure of information by the Minister of Health regarding the vaccination constraints. Because, according to him, transparency of information is an important factor in efforts to prevent and overcome COVID-19 in the country.

"With this kind of information, the public must be more obedient and more stringent in implementing health protocols", said Charles, Wednesday, April 7.

In particular, the discipline of implementing health protocols in places and public facilities that have been reopened. Such as cinemas, schools, and others.

Charles assessed that the third wave of COVID-19 that is being experienced by vaccine-producing countries could be a mirror for Indonesia to always implement strict health protocols.

For the vaccination process, Charles hopes that all citizens can work together to create herd immunity. This is because vaccinations have only reached less than 5 percent of the total national vaccination target of 181 million people.

"(Hopefully) we can both survive this long journey", said the PDIP Party politician.
