4 Died In A Santri Transport Bus Accident On The Semarang-Solo Toll Road

JAKARTA - At least four people died in a single accident involving a minibus at KM 432 of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road in the Ungaran area, Semarang Regency, Central Java, Friday, October 18.

Kasatlantas Polres Semarang AKP Lingga Ramdhani explained that the unfortunate incident happened to a minibus numbered DK-7834-AI carrying students from the Bantul Islamic Center Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes).

According to him, the four victims who died in the incident were caregivers and three students.

"The car is carrying 25 people. They will follow MTQ in Uncilla Semarang," he said.

AKP Lingga explained that the incident began when the minibus was traveling from Solo to Semarang.

While at the scene, he said, the unlucky vehicle allegedly avoided a car that braked suddenly.

"Avoiding the car that braked suddenly, then swerved to the left until it hit the road divider," he said.

All victims who died or were injured in the incident were evacuated to Ungaran Hospital for further treatment.
