ACEH - The Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) said four residents died as a result of being buried by landslides in Celala District, Central Aceh Regency.

BPBA Chief Executive Teuku Nara Setia said the floods and landslides occurred on Tuesday at around 22.20 WIB in the Gampong Arul Gading and Ramung Ara areas, Celala District.

The fatalities were one family, namely Caisar Sofian (28), Putri Amanda (26), Sofia Putri (10) and Ghibran Naufa (5).

"The final condition of the victim has been found in its entirety," said Teuku Nara Setia in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, October 9.

He explained that the chronology of this incident was triggered by extreme weather that hit the Central Aceh region, causing flooding as well as landslides.

As a result, one house belonging to the victim was buried by landslides. This incident also buried the access road body to the Pepalang-Berawang road area, thus hampering access to residents.

In that incident, the Central Aceh BPBD had dispatched the Rapid Response Team (TRC) to the field to collect data on the impact of damage and assist disaster emergency management at the scene.

His party also deployed a wheel loader to clean up the landslide material covering the access road to Gampong Ramung Ara and one heavy excavator to help search for victims.

Until now BPBD, Basarnas, elements of the TNI/Polri, and the community, continue to monitor conditions at the scene.
