Update On COVID-19 As Of April 1: 6.142 New Cases, Recovered Cases Increasing To 7.248

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 72.794 specimens were examined with the results that there were 6.142 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.517.854 people and 121.222 active cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health's data, Thursday, April 1.

Recovered cases today increased by 7.248 cases so that a total of 1.355.578 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 196 people and the total was 41.054 people.

The province with the newest cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1.337 cases and a total of 383.392 cases. Followed by Banten, which has 905 new cases with a total of 38.664 cases. West Java has 904 new cases and a total of 251.186 cases. Then, Central Java has 670 new cases and a total of 169.480 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today is owned by Banten with an increase of 2.015 cases recovered. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1.157 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 922 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 827 recovered cases.

No province reported having zero new cases as of today. Provinces reporting new cases under 10 are Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, North Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12.780.101.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 18.56 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted with COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 62.623 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 8.349.475 people have been vaccinated against the first dose of COVID-19, and 3.850.791 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
