Harapan Jaya Bus Collis Truck On Batang Toll Road, 6 People Injured

JAKARTA - A traffic accident between the Harapan Jaya bus and a truck on the Batang KM Toll Road. 347 lane A, Batang Regency, Central Java, resulted in one victim being seriously injured and five minor injuries.

"Yes, this morning there was an accident involving one victim with serious injuries and five minor injuries," said Head of the Batang Police Traffic Unit, AKP Wigiyadi, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 14.

Currently, several members of the Batang Police Traffic Unit are at the scene of the incident as well as evacuating the injured victims.

The accident began when the Harapan Jaya bus with the police number AG-7063-US with 37 passengers driven by Usyulianto Prakoso (52), drove from the west (Pekalongan) to the east (Semarang) in the left lane.

Arriving at the scene of the incident, it is suspected that the bus driver was not concentrating enough or sleepy and then hit the back of the truck with police number K-8099-EC which was walking in the same direction in front of him in the left lane.

"The condition of the road is straight, the traffic flow is moderately sunny. The accident occurred allegedly because the bus driver was sleepy," he said.

Currently, the injured passengers are being taken to the QIM Batang Hospital for intensive treatment.

"The seriously injured victim is the bus driver. Currently, we are still investigating the incident at the crime scene," he said.
