JAKARTA - A Super Air Jet aircraft experienced electrical disturbances and canceled landing at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Banda Aceh on Friday, September 6 afternoon.

The plane on the Jakarta-Aceh route was forced to turn around and land at Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

The plane with flight number IU 994 departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 10.40 WIB and was originally scheduled to land at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport at 13.25 WIB.

The plane carried a number of athletes and officials of the XXI Aceh-North PON contingent from several provinces such as North Sulawesi, West Sumatra and DI Yogyakarta.

In addition, the plane was also boarded by a number of media coverage of the Aceh-North PON.

The plane was actually already in the air of Aceh and the pilot initially informed that he was waiting for a signal from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport for the landing queue.

The plane had rotated several times in the airspace of Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, surpassing the landing time schedule.

A flight attendant then told the passengers that the plane would first land at Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

"If we are still rotating again, there will be not enough fuel. That's why we first landed at Kualanamu Airport," said the flight attendant giving an explanation to passengers in seat number 2 on Friday at around 14:07 WIB.

Thus, the plane that was supposed to arrive at Banda Aceh Airport Sultan Iskandar Muda at 13.25 WIB had to land first at Kualanamu Airport.

Then, at 14:43 WIB, the plane landed at Kualanamu Airport.
