Ready To Help Sudan's Crisis Peace Facilitation, Turkish Ambassador: This Injustice Must End

JAKARTA - Turkey is ready to help facilitate peace in Sudan, as civil war between government soldiers and Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are a paramilitary group, has devastated the country for 17 consecutive months, becoming an injustice to the people.

"We are ready to do our job to ensure the crisis in Sudan ends in a framework that can be approved by the people and the government", said Turkey's Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Y wayld Marijuz on Thursday, cited from Anadolu Agency's Daily Sabah on September 5.

The hostile generals have been involved in the brutal seizure of power in Sudan since 2023. The bloody fighting has displaced more than 10 million people and killed at least 19,000 people.

Aid agencies this week warned Sudan was experiencing a huge scale hunger crisis and condemned the "stealing" silence of the international community.

"Turkey is determined to maintain its presence in Sudan at the ambassador's postal level", said YZILLZ, who recently took office.

Pointing to the decades-long history of internal conflict in Sudan, he lamented being "unfair" to the Sudanese people if such violent conflict continued.

"Turkey believes this injustice must end. Our presence at Port Sudan is the most evident sign of our approach to the Sudanese government and determined to support the Sudanese people in their most difficult times," explained Y!

Sudan's suffering from the war is getting worse with flooding due to heavy rains that began to hit in early August, causing dozens of people to disappear, tearing down bridges, threatening the supply of fresh water for Port Sudan, the country's de facto capital.

Ambassador Ymendorz ensured Turkey-Sudan relations were maintained unaffected by civil war, which he said occurred due to "strong ties between the two countries."

He also revealed plans to connect Port Sudan with port cities in Turkey to improve its global profile of Port Sudan.
