The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Tenant Fire Is Under Control. Confirmed Not To Disturb Aviation

The fire incident was reported to have occurred in one of the food and beverage tenants in the departure area of Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten. On Sunday, September 1 afternoon, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) confirmed that the situation on the ground was under control so that there was no impact on the flight schedule.

Soetta Airport Executive General Manager, Dwi Ananda Wicaksana in Tangerang, said on Sunday that with this incident the local airport authorities had carried out handling quickly, although operations at the airport could run normally and not be disrupted.

"There is no impact on operations at all. In fact, we have appealed to passengers to distribute masks, so they can still carry out the boarding process normally," said Dwi as quoted by VOI from ANTARA.

He revealed that in handling this fire, his party deployed as many as 20 internal firefighters from Soetta Airport, so that the fire could be handled quickly by firefighters.

"We have deployed about 20 firefighters and assisted with Avsec officers and a local engineering team," he said.

He explained that the chronology of the fire incident that hit one of the food & beverage tenants in the departure area of Terminal 3 Soetta Airport occurred at around 04.24 WIB.

Then, after it was discovered that the hotspots that caused the fire, it was then reported that the Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) personnel at around 04.30 WIB could handle it.

Until now, ARFF personnel are taking normalization steps at the location where the hotspots appear, including removing smoke in the terminal using vacuum smoke and exhaust fans.

"For this incident, it is certain that there were no casualties, either injured or dead. And for the tenants themselves, we ensure that they can operate again at this time," he said.

He also added that this fire incident was being investigated further regarding the cause of the fire spot in one of the tenants.

AP II apologizes to airplane passengers for the inconvenience that arises. Currently, Soekarno-Hatta Airport flight operations are still running normally.
