Sandiaga Uno's Total Support For Bobby Nasution Who Initiated 'Medan The Kitchen Of Asia'

JAKARTA - The Minister of Creative Tourism and Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno fully supports "Medan The Kitchen of Asia" which was initiated by Mayor Bobby Nasution. Kesawan Medan area is now a culinary center.

Sandiaga Uno's total support was shown when he visited the Kesawan area, West Medan on Saturday, March 27. Meanwhile, today, Sunday, March 28, the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, launched the Kesawan City Walk.

"The Ministry of Creative Tourism and Economy (Kemenparekraf) fully supports this idea because the magnet from Medan City is in his culinary experience. In addition, it is necessary to add historical stories behind it to add value to the culinary delights," said Sandiaga Uno.

One example of the word Sandiaga is the Tjong A Fie restaurant that Sandi and Bobby visited. This restaurant was once a large house left by a merchant with a rich ethnic Chinese descent named Tjong A Fie.

This place has great significance and history because of its role in maintaining ethnic and religious harmony.

"In structuring the 'Medan Kitchen of Asia', the Ministry of Tourism will participate in developing creative economy products in Medan, as well as ensuring that their business has adopted technology," Sandiaga said.

"From our experience in launching the Lake Toba Creative Purchase program last month, the MSMEs involved have increased by 80% in sales due to adaptation to technology and digital," Sandiaga continued.
