JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy held a coordination meeting across ministries/primary institutions in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) to discuss the improvement of Human Resources (HR).

"I want to end this term of office to pay as much attention as possible to IKN in accordance with the President's direction. Later we will follow several meetings that are more detailed and technical, as well as participate in enlivening the atmosphere of IKN," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday.

During the meeting, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said the government had prepared inclusive human development steps in the IKN area by preparing quality human resources. People in the IKN area are expected to participate and not only be spectators of the results of IKN development.

In addition, he also highlighted the flow of mobilization. The arrival of ASN has been planned and will be followed by the flow of urbanization of the community, so it must be anticipated because it has the potential to affect the balance of IKN governance which is prepared as a city of the future.

"It is very complex, not only related to investment and infrastructure, but related to three main things, namely health, education, and human resources or human power," said Muhadjir.

He mentioned the steps that can be taken in human development and culture in IKN. In the health sector, namely by prioritizing local health workers, it is necessary to support the preparation by providing special mentoring of preparations before getting scholarships.

The quality of education for local sons, he continued, needs to be supported by qualified educational institutions by bringing their facilities closer to IKN.

"Local residents are the initial owners of IKN, do not let newcomers who will feel more exclusive in the IKN area," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir Effendy.

According to him, the development of IKN is a symbol of the commitment to realizing equitable development throughout Indonesia. At the same time implementing President Jokowi's vision to convert from Java Sentris to Indonesia Sentris.
