Blocked By The Constitutional Court's Decision, PSI Affirms That Kaesang Will Not Fight In The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Raja Juli Antony emphasized that PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep will not fight in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) was issued.

"With the birth of the Constitutional Court's decision, Mas Kaesang will not run in the 2024 Pilkada. So it's clear, yes. Once again I emphasize, Mas Kaesang will no longer run as a candidate in the 2024 Pilkada anywhere," said Raja Juli at the PSI DPP office, Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta, Sunday 25 August.

Regarding the letter not being sentenced to Kaesang which was widely discussed, Raja Juli said that the letter was made by one of the PSI DPP chairmen who took the initiative to take care of administrative matters if the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM) plus would nominate Kaesang as a candidate for the Central Java gubernatorial election.

Raja Juli added that PSI's encouragement in the name of Kaesang Pangarep was due to the constitutional space after the Supreme Court's decision was issued. However, after the Constitutional Court's decision was issued, Kaesang himself said that he would not run in the regional elections.
