Commission III Of The DPR Asks Polda Metro Jaya To Release Dozens Of Demonstrators In The DPR

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the NasDem faction, Taufik Basari, asked Polda Metro Jaya to release dozens of demonstrators who held demonstrations at the DPR building today.

Taufik admitted that he had received a complaint report from YLBHI and the team that advocated for today's demonstration in the DPR regarding the action participants who were arrested and subjected to violence.

Based on complaints received by the advocacy team, as many as 11 people were arrested during the action and 9 people were arrested afterward. Meanwhile, there were three people who were seriously injured.

"We ask the Polda Metro Jaya to release the demonstrators considering that the demonstration has also been completed and the demands have been accommodated," Taufik told reporters, Thursday, August 22.

Taufik also asked the police to provide access to the advocacy team that accompanies them so that they can obtain data clarity regarding the complaints they received.

The NasDem politician also urged that the injured action participants could get access to health at the nearest hospital.

"I ask the police to provide access to the advocacy team so that a conducive situation can be maintained," said Taufik.
