WEST ACEH - Head of the West Aceh District Attorney's Office, Siswanto said, an ASN person who is also a former treasurer at the Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) with the initials CT, admitted that he deliberately did not deposit taxes into the regional treasury after being received from a number of tax objects in the local area amounting to Rp500 million. “ To investigators, this female ASN person admitted that he deliberately did not deposit the tax he received on the grounds of his own interests, ” Siswanto told ANTARA in Meulaboh, Aceh, Thursday, August 22. In his statement, an individual serving at the West Aceh BPKD admitted that he did not deposit the tax revenue received from November to December 2022, with a total tax money allegedly used of Rp. 500 million. Siswanto said that the alleged corruption case of regional tax revenue was revealed in January 2023, after the direct supervisor of the ASN questioned the absence of regional tax payments that had been received from November to December 2022. To investigators, the ASN with the initials CT claimed to have used more than Rp500 million in funds for personal gain, and he admitted to using tax deposits without involving other parties, including those closest to him. “Ia mengaku suaminya juga tidak tahu, bahwa ia menggunakan uang pajak tersebut untuk dirinya,” kata Siswanto. In fact, when investigators repeatedly questioned where regional tax money was used, civil servants with relaxed faces showed the money was used for their stomach needs. Siswanto said that the information submitted by CT to the prosecutor's investigators was also in accordance with the information submitted to the officers of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of Aceh, who questioned where the tax money was used. Even when asked by the West Aceh Inspectorate and the direct superiors of ASN, the same answer was conveyed that regional tax money was indeed used for his own benefit. Kajari Siwanto said that until now investigators are still gathering information from the parties regarding the investigation into alleged regional tax corruption in the West Aceh Regency Government, which is suspected of causing regional financial losses of up to Rp500 million.
