KPU Establishes Election Academy To Finalize Competency For Democratic Party Organizers

The General Elections Commission (KPU) will set up a General Elections Academy (Pemilu) to prepare qualified election organizers.

Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Mochammad Afifuddin said the move was an effort to participate in advancing democracy, politics and elections in Indonesia.

"The KPU is also trying to participate in advancing democracy, politics and elections in Indonesia with the establishment of the General Elections Academy where it is hoped that there will be an education level that can prepare mature, competent and professional election organizers," Afif said in his remarks at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20, confiscated by Antara.

He also hopes that the presence of the Election Academy can meet people's expectations regarding accountable and transparent elections.

"Later on, the General Elections Academy will be studied on electoral elections, financial governance of political parties, campaign funds, election logistics and various other things regarding the implementation of elections," he said.

For information, the KPU held a National Consolidation Meeting on the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election Preparedness at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.

This is to provide the same understanding among the ranks of the KPU regarding the provisions that must be guided to follow up on strategic issues for the success of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

This activity was attended by 3,743 participants consisting of around 406 Indonesian KPU participants, 246 Aceh provincial/KIP KPUs, 3,084 district/city KPUs, and seven invited guest speakers from ministries/institutions.
