DKI Police Prepare Engineering to Parking Bags for National Prayer and Prayer at Monas

JAKARTA - The Transportation Office (Dishub) of the DKI Jakarta Province has deployed 135 personnel to support the smooth implementation of the 2026 National Prayer and Prayer in celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, Saturday, August 1.

They also prepared situational traffic engineering and provided 19 pocket parking points to anticipate congestion.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Office Budi Awaluddin said that arrangements were prepared so that the activities could run smoothly without disturbing the mobility of the community around the Monas area.

"The Transportation Service has deployed 135 personnel who have been alerted at a number of strategic points to carry out traffic management and provide services to the public," Budi told reporters through his statement, Saturday, August 1.

The traffic engineering is situational according to the conditions on the ground. The traffic diversion is carried out for vehicles from various directions, ranging from Harmoni, HI roundabout, Tanah Abang, to the Tugu Tani and Kramat-Salemba areas, by directing vehicles through a number of alternative roads around the Monas area.

To accommodate the vehicles of participants, Dishub has prepared 19 parking bag locations with a total capacity of 3,755 parking space units (SRP) for four-wheeled vehicles and 5,105 SRP for two-wheeled vehicles.

The parking location is spread across the Old Pertamina Building, National Gallery, PLN Central Building, Ministry of Trade, IRTI Monas Parking Plaza, Gambir Station, Lemhannas, National Library, Telkom STO Gambir Building, BUMN Ministry, Danareksa Tower, Indosat Building, Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Religion, Istiqlal Mosque, Post Office Indonesia, South Banteng Field, Sapta Pesona Building, to JIEXPO Kemayoran.

Dishub appeals to the public to use the parking bags that have been provided and not to park vehicles on the road so as not to interfere with the smooth flow of traffic.

In addition, the public is also encouraged to use public transportation to the location of the activity. Monas area can be accessed through various Transjakarta services, including Corridor 1 (Block M-City), Corridor 2 (Pulo Gadung-National Monument), Corridor 3 (Kalideres-National Monument via Veteran), and a number of other routes with stops at Monas Stop, City Hall Stop, Gambir 2 Stop, and Gambir 3 Stop.

Dishub ensures that Transjakarta operations continue to run normally. However, if there is a diversion of traffic during the event, the service will be adjusted to the conditions on the ground.

Budi also reminded users of long-distance trains who will go to or depart from Gambir Station to arrange their travel time in advance, use alternative routes, and comply with traffic arrangements and instructions from officers in order to maintain the smoothness of shared mobility.

"We appeal to the public to adjust their travel routes, use public transportation and parking bags that have been provided, and follow the instructions of officers in the field so that activities can take place in an orderly manner and public mobility is maintained," he concluded.
